The Village Museum is situated next to the biggest park of the city. The museum has 70 wooden houses from all the regions of Romania, 2 churches and many annexes. The project of this beautiful open air museum starts in 1936; today the “recreated village” has more than 30 ha. Is one of the favorite places in the week-ends for Bucharest citizens.

Arcul de Triumf is a triumphal arch located in the northern part of Bucharest, on the Kiseleff Road. The first, wooden, the triumphal arch was built hurriedly, after Romania gained its independence (1878), so that the victorious troops could march under it. Another temporary arch was built on the same site, in 1922, after World War I, which was demolished in 1935 to make way for the current triumphal arch, which was inaugurated in September 1936. The current arch has a height of 27 meters and was built after the plans of the architect Petre Antonescu. It has as foundation a 25 x 11.50 meters rectangle. The sculptures with which the facades are decorated were created by famous Romanian sculptors such as Ion Jalea and Dimitrie Paciurea.

Next we drive to the heart of the city for :
The Old town lies on the left side of Dambovita in the center of the city. Narrow beautiful streets, stone and wood paved, old inns that today host hotels, restaurants and art gallery, volt basements with restaurants, clubs and bars, all of those, together, in the historical part of the city of Bucharest.

Calimanesti is one of the most famous spas in Romania; its hot mineral springs and thermal waters attract thousands of tourists for treatments and relax. In 19th century Emperor Napoleon the 3rd built a castle here, as his summer residence, but he never stayed in.

Cozia From Calimanesti down the road, the valley narrows and the forest comes from the high way down to the Olt River bad. Rising as it seems, from river’s waves, the walls of the well-known monastery of Cozia keep inside them a world of memories, heroic acts, legendary faces. Built between 1387-1388 on the space of an old cult place, the monastery remained, with all the additions made in the next centuries, the most beautiful foundation of the ruler Mircea cel Batran (Mircea the Old), which portrait and grave lays here. Near the ruler’s grave rests in the eternal sleep the unhappy mother of Mihai the Brave, nun with the name of Teofana, which died only five years after her son was killed at Turda.
