Bucharest is the capital of Romania, has over 2.5 mil. inhabitants being the largest city in the country. It situated on the banks of Dambovita and Colentina rivers in the central part of Romanian plain. In ancient times the city was surrounded by forest, today only a few being kept. Bucharest is the main cultural, political and administrative center of Romania. Many museums, parks, gardens and wide boulevards are an attraction for many tourist, Romanian and foreigners also. Parliament House (Casa Poporului) is the second largest building in the world and is situated in the city center, a must for everybody. Village museum has houses from different part of the country and is situated in the north part of the city in the largest park of the city. (Herastrau) In the center of the city you can see the ruins of the old royal court, court set hare by Vlad Impeller (also known as Dracula) in 15th century. The old town in situated in the hart of the city, has narrow twisted streets with old buildings the used to be shops, houses, inns. Bucharest was famous for its churches, having once more than 365 churches. Bucharest is the main university center in Romania, a lot of young people coming every year for studies crowd the bars, cafes, clubs, making of Bucharest an active city, especially down town area.

Manuc’s Inn was built by the great merchant Manuc-bei in the first decade of the 19th century. Nowadays is one of the most important historical and architectural monuments in the Capital.

The Old Court is situated right in the center of the city. The construction started in the late 14th century, Vlad Impaller (also known as Dracula) being the first king to move the capital here, in the middle of a thick oak forest, on the banks of Dambovita. (the river of oak leaves)

Saint Anton Church is the oldest building in Bucharest, built at royal church in 1398, rebuilt several times during the history. It is situated in the old town, next to Dambovita River, at few yards of the ruins of the Old Court and across the street of the most famous inn of Bucharest, still in use: Manuc Inn.

Old town is on the left side of Dambovita in the center of the city. Narrow streets, stone and wood paved and in some places, old inns that today host hotels, restaurants and art gallery, volt basements in witch restaurants, clubs and bars, all of those in a quite small area.

Stavropoleos Church (1724-1730) was built with hard work by the Greek priest Ioanichie. It has many beautiful ornaments and is very impressive through its exterior paintings and wonderful decorations.

The Palace of Parliament - People’s Palace (1984-1989) is the most impressive administrative construction in Europe, and includes hundreds of offices, tens of reception halls for scientific, cultural, socio-political meetings. It has 265.000 m? on the inside and is the 2nd in the world, after the Pentagon, in Washington.

Sinaia is the most famous mountain resort in Romania also known as the “pearl of Carpathians”. In 1695 king M. Cantacuzino built a monastery after a visit at Mount Sinai, naming it Sinaia. Since 1874 a town, was chosen by the Romanian royal family as summer residence, building here Peles castle in 1878.

The Royal Peles Castle was built during 1875-1883; there can be recognized different architectonic styles, German Renaissance elements prevail and also Gothic style. The architects have used everything to give splendor and content to the construction, wood decoration is in abundance in the interior and also exterior to confer to the castle a special air. Situated in a beautiful park with gorgeous terraces, Peles Castle has 160 rooms and halls where can be seen different ornamental objects, Oriental carpets, fine ivory sculptures, tapestries, furniture, weapon collections (15th-19th centuries) and paintings. The most impressive rooms are: the Hall of Honor, the large Weapon Room (with objects from India, Persia, Turkey, Arabia), the Council Room (Swiss colored glass window, 16th - 17th centuries), the Music Room, the Florentine Room, the Mirror Room, the Moorish Room (with a collection inspired by the Spanish Alhambra Palace), the Turkish Drawing-Room, the Theater Room.

Brasov is the South gate of Transylvania, a multilingual city, a place where Romanians, Germans and Hungarians live together. Brasov was for the first time mentioned in the historical chronics, in the early years of the 13th century.

Rupea is a small town situated in South East Transylvania at the half distance between Brasov and Sighisoara. On town territory there where found traces of inhabitation since the Stone Age. (tools, pottery…) On an old Dacian settlement called by the Roman Rupes the medieval village was born, first mentioned in a document in 1324. In the middle ages it was a trade town, commercial and crafts shops. Between 19th and 20th century Rupea was famous for its 4 annual fairs. The most important thing to see is the ruins of the stronghold, built in deferent periods, 13th - 17th century.

Sighisoara is the most interesting town in Romania, being lived continuous since the stone ages, today the only fortified town still dwelt in Eastern Europe. In 1280 the town’s name (Castrum Sex) appears in a document given by the Pope. Here in 1433 Vlad Impaller son of Vlad Dracul is born. The house where this new king was born, better known as Dracula still can be seen. The town has a 930 m wall and had 14 defending towers. The most important, the clock tower hosts the history museum. From the top the view is spectacular.
