Free time to explore the wonderful beaches directly in front of your hotel. Swimming in the Black Sea is always a very enjoyable experience!
Constanta is the third biggest city of Romania and the largest port at the Black Sea. Here Romanians, Greeks and Turks are living together. Harbour industries as well as the tourism business are well developed.
In Constanta restaurants and museums are all over the city. We visit the antic citadel (Ruins of Tomis sec. VI B.C.) with cultural contact with the Greek and Roman civilizations
Tomis is the old town set here by the Greeks from Millet in 6th century B.C. The oldest mention of the town dates since 3rd century B.C. After 260 B.C. the town has the right to make its own coin.
Lunch
Histria. On the shore of the lake Sinoe, in the Northern part of Istria peninsula, 2.600 years ago was raised the city if Histria, founded by the Greek merchants and navigators in order to trade with the native Getae. Histria (in Greek is from the name of the river Danube - Istros) was properous and developed for 8 centuries. The settlement had strong defence wall, collected the water by aqueducts 20 km long, had the streets covered with stones, and had populated sport institutions (gymnasion) and cultural ones (museion) with strong activities.
Between 1st and 3rd centuries A.C. the Romans take over these places (Dobrogea from today). In this period, are built temples for the Roman gods, public bath, beautiful houses for the wealthy citizens. Histria, the oldest urban settlement from the country, was discovered and brought to light in 1914 by the excavations of the great historian and archaeologist Vasile Parvan.

Murfatlar winery tour with a lunch
Murfatlar is the old name of Basarabi town. The vineyards here are famous not only in Romania but all over the world, being established in 1907. In 1950 new vineyards were planted. Murfatlar is the most important wine region on the Romanian coast. Late harvest wines are a speciality here, and sugar in grape levels can be very high. Merlot and some Cabernet Sauvignon tend to be planted on north-facing slopes in an effort to prolong ripening. In the wine cellar a lot of valuable wines are stored.
